Sequence Block
In Sequence Block one card rank is blocked every game. Its eight spaces become walls: no chips, no Sequences through them. Route your five-in-a-row lines around the gaps and beat the Block Crusher AI. Free in the browser.
How Sequence Block works
- Open Sequence and choose Sequence Block on the home screen.
- One rank (2 to 10, queen, king or ace) is picked at random and shown as Blocked above the board.
- All eight spaces of that rank are blocked. They cannot take chips, not even from a two-eyed jack.
- Cards of that rank are taken out of the deck, so you never draw one.
- Blocked spaces do not count toward a Sequence. Build five in a row around them.
- Complete two Sequences before the Block Crusher to win.
Why play Sequence Block
- A different board every game — the blocked rank changes which lines are even possible.
- Natural walls — blocked spaces cut long lines, so open lanes become precious.
- Read the board first — the best players spot the open lanes before the first chip.
- Free in the browser — no download on phone or desktop, or get the Android app.
Sequence Block vs classic Sequence
The win condition is the same as classic Sequence: two five-in-a-row Sequences. Jacks, free corners and dead-card swaps still work. The difference is eight walled-off spaces and a smaller deck. Full classic rules live on how to play Sequence.
Tips for beating the Block Crusher
- Before your first move, find the rows, columns and diagonals with no blocked space. Those are your lanes.
- A blocked space next to an opponent's line is a free block for you. Do not spend a chip there.
- Free corners matter more when the edges are walled off; aim corner lines at open lanes.
- Lines that cross in an open area give you two threats at once.
